Up next begins the post series on Alan Ball's Six Feet Under and American Beauty. Both the series and the film are excellent meditations on live, death, love, suburbia and sex. I'm thinking of doing a post for both on their own, and then doing a couple that involve both, since they share many common themes. We'll begin with American Beauty, since it was released first.
